Talk title: Turning Bipolar Plate Coatings into Deployable Hydrogen Power
Biography
Wai Jun laid his technical foundation in process engineering and industrial decarbonization with a MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge and Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from University College London.
He then started his career in the Strategic Planning team at the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), and later served as Head of Strategy and Finance for a Singapore-based wastewater treatment start-up. In this role, he helped scale municipal and industrial water solutions, gaining hands-on experience in bringing infrastructure-intensive, sustainability-driven technologies from strategy to deployment.
Reflecting his active role in the regional energy transition, he was elected as an Executive Committee member of the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association of Singapore (HFCAS).
Today, leveraging this blend of technical grounding and hydrogen expertise, Wai Jun is the General Manager at Sydrogen (a subsidiary of NTI Nanofilm Group) driving the commercialization of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies to accelerate the clean energy transition.
